IN A WORLD where billions are threatened by the mindless, soulless creatures of destruction known as Ghouls, groups of dedicated scientists, soldiers and inventors stop at nothing to rid the world of the deadly menace. In America, that group is ADEF -- the Aberration Deterrent and Eradication Forces. Their top scientists: David Lake, the world's foremost expert on Malectoplasm, the substance from which Ghouls are formed; and Pamela Gray, the researcher who helped to create Ghoo, the only substance known to be able to kill a Ghoul. They are protected by professional Ghoul hunter Cornealius, and led by General James H. Zone, the head of ADEF. Their adversary, the heartless billionaire Heston Oliver Wynn, who seeks to exploit the Ghoul invasion for his own profit.
